Even-stevens at the end of the first day’s play. Going into lunch South Africa after a dominating opening partnership from Graeme Smith and Neil McKenzie were on song. The rest of the events well, watch the video. Sreesanth got Smith but Dhoni spilt it while getting up (Smith went on to smack him for 4 fours in his next over). It was really not clear what Asad Rauf’s decision was did he think Dhoni was not in control of the ball, he seemed pretty much in control until the spilling happened, or did Rauf think Smith hadn’t nicked it. Only the strange Umpire that Rauf can be sometimes can tell what he couldn’t tell was Kallis’ wicket I doubt he’d have ruled in the Harbhajan’s favour if Kallis hadn’t walked. Also watch out for a superb caught and bowled catch by Anil Kumble to get Ashwell Prince. It’s little wonder Kimble has the highest number of caught and bowleds in the world.
All in all, quite a different experience to watch after the Australia tour, but I can see this building up for me as it goes on.
